A two day conference presented by Dartmouth College, Antioch University and NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) focused on promoting a rural Northeast region that is climate resilient, economically revitalized, and decarbonized.
Day 1 will consist of training and site visits highlighting innovative solutions, followed by an evening keynote reception. Day 2 will include sessions showing how to implement best practices at local and regional levels, with a second keynote lunch speaker and a concluding panel on how to finance these local solutions.
This conference will offer professional development opportunities through training sessions, facilitated presentations, panels and both formal and informal networking for a diverse group of stakeholders, including federal, state, and tribal representatives, nonprofits, businesses, scientists, and frontline community groups.
Full conference schedule and online registration are here.
Co-sponsored by Sustainable Hanover.
A Community Build in the spirit of an old fashioned barn-raising! Volunteers and customer-participants team up to assemble attractive custom-built interior storm windows to lower fuel bills and increase comfort and warmth in the winter.
We are near fully booked with orders for inserts to be built September 25 to October 1. Volunteers make it possible to offer inserts to lower income households based on their ability to pay.
Volunteering at the Window Build is a fun and rewarding experience! Shifts available - morning, afternoon or evening. Light lunch provided. Sign up here or email our team if you’d like to help.

Sustainable Hanover supports efforts of the community to assure that the Town of Hanover thrives for present and future generations.

Sustainable Hanover’s Community, Energy, and Environment efforts focus on the daily, weekly and seasonal choices we make that can impact every aspect of our local, regional and global community.

Community
Sustainable Hanover exists to support the efforts of our community to assure that the Town of Hanover thrives for present and future generations.

Energy
In May 2017 Hanover residents showed up at Town Meeting in record numbers to make history. We voted overwhelmingly to transition to 100% renewable energy—electricity by 2030 and heating, cooling and transportation by 2050.

Environment
For Sustainable Hanover, the focus on the environment centers on the myriad ways we impact our surroundings to ensure a resilient, healthy, and vibrant community for people, animals, plants, and other organisms.
