Wish your house was less drafty and your energy bills lower? A simple way to do this is with Window Dressers interior window inserts which have helped hundreds of Upper Valley households enjoy a more comfortable winter home. These inserts are available for purchase once a year. Order now for the 2026 inserts which will be custom-made at our community build to be held at the Church of Christ at Dartmouth in October.
Because our past builds have sold out every year, we recommend ordering as early as possible. Customers who can order, get measured, and pre-pay BEFORE APRIL 2026 will receive 2025 pricing. Subsidies are available for low-income households.
Learn more about the inserts, see sample prices, and place your order at our Windows page here.
This community build is co-hosted by Sustainable Hanover and the Energy Committees of Norwich and Lyme in collaboration with Window Dressers, a Maine-based non-profit which serves Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Questions? Email sustainablehanovernh@gmail.com.
Learn how to save money, energy and increase the comfort of your home. Certified energy auditor Andy Duncan will cover basic building science and weatherization measures to button up your home for both the heating and cooling seasons.
Learn about the energy efficiency programs offered by the Utilities for existing homes and new construction, including energy audits, air sealing and insulation, and rebates on more efficient appliances and heating/cooling systems.
The workshop will be held on ZOOM at this link. Attendance is free. No prior registration required. Questions? Email sustainablehanovernh@gmail.com.

Sustainable Hanover supports efforts of the community to assure that the Town of Hanover thrives for present and future generations.
Sustainable Hanover’s Community, Energy, and Environment efforts focus on the daily, weekly and seasonal choices we make that can impact every aspect of our local, regional and global community.
Community
Sustainable Hanover exists to support the efforts of our community to assure that the Town of Hanover thrives for present and future generations.
Energy
In May 2017 Hanover residents showed up at Town Meeting in record numbers to make history. We voted overwhelmingly to transition to 100% renewable energy—electricity by 2030 and heating, cooling and transportation by 2050.
Environment
For Sustainable Hanover, the focus on the environment centers on the myriad ways we impact our surroundings to ensure a resilient, healthy, and vibrant community for people, animals, plants, and other organisms.
