Reasons to Participate as a Seller
You are downsizing or moving;
You have accumulated household items you no longer need or use;
Your children have outgrown toys, sports equipment, and clothing; or
You hate throwing out perfectly usable items but don’t want the hassle or have the space to set up your own yard sale!
What Sellers Need to Know
We have 124 spaces for sellers to rent. We allot spaces on a first come first served basis.
Sellers may request 1 or 2 spaces. Each space comes with a second free space for a vehicle(s).
The cost of each selling space is $25. We request a second check in the same amount that we hold until the sale is over and you have cleared your space.
This is not a sale for vendors specializing in single type items.
Specialized clothing like clothing for infants and young children, exercise wear, sports gear, and winter wear sells well. Clothing of the worn t-shirt/jeans variety does not.
Household goods, kitchen items, tools, craft supplies, household linens, sports equipment are all good sellers.
Infant/children’s equipment and toys are popular.
Small furniture items that can be carried out sell quickly. Large items present a challenge to transport. Sellers will be responsible for transporting large items.
All items should be in good working condition. There is no electricity on site for testing.
Sellers are responsible for setting prices. Items should be priced to sell.
After the yard sale, sellers must remove all items from their spaces. After a seller’s space is cleared of all stuff, we will return the second check.
We provide no trash barrels on site. All trash must be taken home with you.
Registration Form and additional information for sellers is HERE.
The annual Hanover Community Yard Sale is sponsored by the Sustainable Hanover Recycling/Waste Reduction Team and the Sustainability Department of Dartmouth College to keep good, usable “stuff” in circulation and out of the landfill.
