WHO KNEW that Hanover Community Power’s Electricity Rates Will Be Lower Than Those Currently offered by Liberty or Eversource Utilities?

Hanover Community Power (HCP) has finalized its menu of power offerings, each associated with a specific percentage of renewably generated electricity at a certain rate.

Granite Basic (23% renewable) - 15.8 cents per kwh

Granite Plus (33% renewable) - 16.2 cents per kwh - HCP DEFAULT

Clean 50 (50% Renewable) - 16.9 cents per kwh

Clean 100 (100% Renewable) - 19.1 cents per kwh

All of these rates are lower than what customers currently pay for electricity with a renewable energy content of only 23% supplied by Liberty (22.0 cents per kwh) or Eversource (20.2 cents per kwh).

Hanover Community Power has designated Granite Plus as the DEFAULT option.

With a few exceptions, if you are currently enrolled with Liberty or Eversource as your electricity supplier, you will be AUTOMATICALLY enrolled into HCP’s DEFAULT option. You do not need to act if you are satisfied with that option. Liberty and Eversource will continue to deliver your electricity which will now be procured by Hanover Community Power.

We urge those of you who are able to opt-up to a higher level of renewable electricity—Clean 50 or Clean 100. This will reduce your personal carbon footprint and help Hanover reach its renewable energy goals. You may also opt-down to Granite Basic.

Customers of Liberty or Eversource who get their supply of electricity through a competitive supplier (i.e., not procured by Liberty or Eversource) and customers of NH Electric Cooperative will remain with these supply services, unless they choose to join Hanover Community Power on an opt-in basis.

Unfortunately, those who have installed solar and are on net metering plans will not be enrolled at this time. As circumstances change, up-to-date guidance can be found in our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
