WHO KNEW You Can Help Celebrate the 265th Birthday of Hanover, the 250th Birthday of the US, and the 17th Birthday of Sustainable Hanover?

Sustainable Hanover invites everyone to help celebrate our history by marching with us in the Fourth of July parade and/or meeting us on the Dartmouth Green afterwards for a slice of birthday cake.

Bring along a poster or a gadget (think: ebike, electric lawn mower, a rake) which represents sustainable living in some way. In addition to cake, we will have a place where people can write down and share their practices for sustainable living. Bring your ideas for sustainability projects that you think are important for the future of Hanover. We want to hear them!

We meet at 9:15 on Hovey Lane next to Hanover High School for the parade. Please join our group of marchers! Maybe you were a member of our “Green Mower Brigade,” or are a biker or an ebiker. Perhaps you compost, or recycle, or wear sustainable clothing. Maybe you are a 4th grader who did a project on renewable energy opportunities for Hanover, or a high schooler who works on environmental issues with the Environmental Club. You might have a passion for a particular issue like pollinator plants or the elimination of invasive plants. Welcome, too, to seniors who are promoting a sustainable future for their families and the community. This is a time to celebrate our town and country and all we have done and can do in the future. We will begin marching at 10AM in the parade to the Green where there will be tables, food and entertainment.

Everyone is welcome to be part of the RED, WHITE, BLUE, and GREEN!
