WHO KNEW Clearing Snow Could Be Fun and Environmentally Friendly?
For those who bemoan the damage to driveways and lawns caused by snowplows, consider the do-it-yourself method: Snowblowers. There is the gas powered, noisy, smelly variety, and then there is the electric snowblower.
Electric snowblowers are powerful, but make far less noise than their gas guzzling cousins. They are generally lighter and easier to maneuver than a comparably sized gas blower, and they’re simple to start—no more yanking the cord and fiddling with the choke. Best of all, they don’t emit noxious fumes into the air. Over time, clearing your own driveway is less expensive than paying someone to plow it, and you don’t have to wait around for someone to come dig you out. Being outside in a freshly fallen snow is invigorating and beautiful, and clearing your driveway, one strip at a time, can be immensely satisfying.
Of course, if you want to be totally off the grid in your snow removing endeavors—grab a shovel!
