UPDATE: The Styrofoam Collection scheduled for Feb 7 has been cancelled due to the cold and windy conditions forecasted for that morning. We regret cancelling after all the work volunteers have put into organizing this event. We are sorry to disappoint everyone looking forward to recycling their styrofoam and lights. The weather has not cooperated this year.
The next Upper Valley Styrofoam collection will be held April 11 in Lebanon. Our Waste Reduction team hopes to reschedule a Hanover collection later in the year.
Bring your styrofoam and old holiday string lights for recycling. We accept #6 styrofoam packaging, meat trays, coolers, egg cartons and more. All items must be clean and have all tape and stickers removed. No peanuts or flexible foam. The collected styrofoam will be trucked to Gilford NH to be compressed and sent on to be manufactured into new products.
Old string lights are also accepted for recycling. No packaging and no rubber bands, please.
All are welcome. There is no charge. Donations are appreciated to cover the cost of truck rental and other collection expenses. If you would like to help as a volunteer, please sign up at https://forms.gle/NA3LaeJFAS91AYY66.
