WHO KNEW What to Do with Christmas Trees, String Lights, Styrofoam and Styrofoam Peanuts after Christmas?

It’s time to clean up after the holidays and here are easy ways to take care of several items we accumulate during the holidays!

Hanover residents can take their Christmas trees to Pine Knoll Cemetery. Trees will be collected near the Water Reclamation facility at the back of the cemetery beginning Dec. 26th.

Anyone can bring Styrofoam and string lights for recycling to the Richmond Middle School on Sat., Jan. 31st, from 10-12. The snow date is February 7th at the same place and same hours.

Styrofoam peanuts are not accepted at this recycling event, but can be taken to Hanover Transfer and Storage located behind Shaw’s on 82 Benning St., in West Lebanon. BE SURE the peanuts are made of Styrofoam and not cornstarch. Cornstarch peanuts will not be accepted.

Hope your clean up is simple and contributes to a sustainable Hanover!

Happy New Year!
