WHO KNEW Somebody Wants Your (gently used) Eclipse Glasses?

If you watched the solar eclipse on April 8, you probably have some of those cardboard sunglasses with extremely dark lenses still lying about. What happens to them now? If you’re adventurous, you might travel to Iceland or Spain for the next total eclipse on August 12, 2026 and use them again. Or not. So what can you do with your glasses besides throw them in the trash?

There are some local options: Check with the organizations that distributed them, such as libraries and schools. The Montshire Museum will take them until April 22. Or you can give them to the Hanover Lion’s Club. Just drop them in the Lion’s Club eyewear bin in the Hanover Coop entry area. You might be interested to know that the Lion’s Club will take any eyewear, including sunglasses.

It’s a small action, but every little act of handling our plastic stuff thoughtfully keeps waste out of the landfill and helps the Earth.
