WHO KNEW That The ABC’s of Reducing Household Energy Use Can Help You Set Priorities for Improvements?

Home improvements to reduce your energy bills can be expensive. In the average home in our area 40% of the total energy bill goes toward heating the living space. If you are ready to get serious about reducing your household’s energy bills, NHSAVES has some very useful tips to help you decide what to tackle first. Above all, you should be familiar with the ABC’s.

A house can lose heated air from three different areas: the attic (A), the basement (B), and the living space (C).The attic is typically the place where the most energy leakage occurs, followed by the basement and then the living area centered between the two. In terms of getting the most bang for your buck, making improvements in the attic offers the biggest opportunity, followed by improvements to the basement and lastly, to the living space. The NHSaves ButtonUp workshop will help you learn to spot where problems lie in each area and offer tips for addressing the various issues. You will benefit from knowing these ABC’s when thinking about where to spend your home-improvement dollars.

The presentation will also address the many rebates available to New Hampshire residents. Whether you own or rent your home, you can learn how to save on products large and small, from LED light bulbs to Energy Star certified major appliances. In addition you will have a chance to quiz the experts in a Q&A session at the end. That’s a very good deal!

Mark your calendar for this free NHSaves Button Up workshop on Thursday, March 12th, at 6:30pm via Zoom.
