Window Inserts (sign up now for next winter)
A simple way to lower your energy bills and make your house less drafty is with Window Dressers interior window inserts. Since our first Window Dressers insert build in 2021, these inserts have helped hundreds of Upper Valley households save energy and enjoy a more comfortable winter home.
Attractive, custom-built window inserts are available for purchase once a year through a collaboration between Windows Dressers, a Maine-based non-profit, and local community teams in northern New England. Our build is a joint effort by Sustainable Hanover and the Energy Committees of Lyme and Norwich.
We are now accepting orders for our 2026 build which will be held at the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College in Hanover between October 1 and 8. At the build, customers who have ordered their inserts and volunteers work together in a barn-raising style event to assemble the inserts β each pre-measured to fit snugly into your windows.
Because our builds have sold out every year, we recommend placing your order as soon as possible. Customers who can order, get measured and pre-pay BEFORE APRIL 2026 will pay 2025 prices. Subsidies are available for low-income households.
