Earth Day Fair

“Aye, ’twas a cold and rainy day” or at least the threat of one for the Earth Day Fair and celebration sponsored by  Sustainable Hanover and Dartmouth College’s Sustainability Department on Saturday, April 26.  Nevertheless, seventeen exhibitor and vendor tables were crowded together, receiving between 60 and 70 attendees in Richmond Middle School gymnasium.

Whereas door prizes and treats were freely available, the most beneficial results of attending were the enthusiastic conversations and the sharing of helpful ideas exchanged between those  staffing the tables with those attending and with each other.  These ranged from how to do composting, sustainable gardening,  what to look for in purchasing an EV, making your home more energy efficient and many other practical tips - all to make sure there are future Earth days!

Co-Chair Yolanda Baumgartner who organized the event was particularly pleased with the number of organizations that had exhibits and presentations at the event.  Plans are underway to have a similar gathering next year.
