Styrofoam Recycling!
It’s time to gather your styrofoam for the Hanover/Norwich Styrofoam and String Light Collection. On June 27th from 10am -12 Noon we will be at the Richmond Middle School at 63 Lyme Rd. in Hanover.
Don’t discard the Styrofoam packaging that comes with purchases and gifts but bring it to the Collection. Expanded Styrene (#6 plastic), which is known as Styrofoam is accepted with tape and stickers removed, as well as meat trays and Styrofoam coolers/boxes. More detail on what is accepted can be found at https://tinyurl.com/u4k6u6pe
It will all be taken to the Gilford, NH Recycling Center where they compress the Styrofoam and send it to various manufacturers.
String lights are also accepted and taken to a recycler in Vermont. They should not be boxed or held together by tape or rubber bands. Keeping these out of the landfill is good and the copper in the wires can be reused.
