Sustainable Hanover’s 15th Anniversary Celebration!

Hanover’s July 4th Independence Day Parade provided the perfect opportunity for the Sustainable Hanover Committee to celebrate the accomplishments achieved over the past 15 years.

The event began with SHC members and friends joining the parade carrying signs representing accomplishments including the solarize campaign, recycling, School Street Sustainable Park, yard sale, ready for 100 campaign, weatherize initiatives, co-sponsoring Window Dressers builds, advocacy of EV automobiles and E-bikes, participation in developing the Hanover Sustainable Master Plan and active participation in the formation of the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire.

The parade ended at the Dartmouth Green where the SHC provided a very large celebratory cake from Lou’s Restaurant & Bakery which was very popular among attendees.  Many were encouraged to take a questionnaire to demonstrate their knowledge about Hanover Community Power.  All quiz takers were eligible of a raffle to a gift certificate for one of Hanover’s coffee shops. In an adjacent site on the Green, Sustainable Hanover hosted electric bicycles from the UV E-Bike Lending Library providing information and opportunities for individuals to experience E-Bikes.
